Back To School Healthy Lunch Ideas that your kids will enjoy

It's the question that haunts every parents, What to pack lunch for kids? Since school day starts, parents are beginning to consider about their kids' lunchboxes. As long as your kids are off to go, you'll need to prepare them the lunchbox. Would love to make the lunch box nutritionally balanced but also fun and appealing for kids?

Below are the ideas gathered from different creative people.


Variety Healthy Box. Lunch box content

  • Cherry tomatoes

  • Cucumber slices

  • Peach

  • Saladas

  • Snap peas

  • Cheese cubes

  • Cheesy Bacon and Vegetable Muffins



Chicken Nugget Wraps. Ingredients

  • Vegie Crumbed Chicken Nuggets

  • 1 tbs Extra Virgin Olive oil

  • Chicken Nuggets

  • 4 Wholemeal Bread Slices [Toasted]

  • 1 cup Diced Cauliflower

  • 1 cup Diced Sweet Potato

  • 1 cup Grated Parmesan

  • 1 cup Greek-Style Yoghurt

  • 500g Chicken Tenderloins [Halved]

  • Wraps

  • 1 cup Gem Lettuce Leaves

  • 1/2 Cucumber [Thinly Sliced]

  • 1/4 cup Reduced-Fat Greek Yoghurt

  • 1/4 Lime [Juiced]



Cheesy Set. Ingredients are:

  • Kiwi fruit and Raspberries

  • Cheese cubes

  • Mini Chocolate Chip Zucchini Muffins

  • Mac and Cheese with Ham (could also use a store-bought version)



Greens and Beans Sandwiches. Ingredients:

  • 1 15-oz. can Cannellini (White Kidney) beans, rinsed

  • 2 Tbsp. Sesame-Scallion Sauce

  • 1 Tbsp. fresh lemon juice (from reserved ½ lemon)

  • Kosher salt

  • Leftover fennel stems and fronds from Big Batch Chicken Thighs

  • 4 slices dark rye bread, [Toasted]

  • 5 oz. French Feta [Sliced into Thick Planks]

  • 1 cup Chile-Garlic Cucumbers


Step 1

Mash beans, sauce, and lemon juice in a medium bowl until combined and mostly smooth; season with salt. Thinly slice about ⅓ cup fennel stems and tear fronds to measure ¼ cup.

Step 2

Divide mixture between 2 slices of bread. Layer feta over and top with cucumbers. Scatter fennel stems and fronds over. Close up sandwiches with remaining slices of bread.



Avocado & Turkey Muffin + Snacks, Ingredients:

  • 1 Tip Top wholemeal English Muffin [Halved] ($0.78)

  • 2 tsp Avocado ($0.19)

  • 30g Sliced Hillview Cheese

  • 40g shaved Ingham Turkey Breast ($1.12)

  • Carrot [Grated] ($0.13)

  • 2 Real Foods multigrain corn thins [For snack]

  • Woolworths Select Creamed Cottage Cheese [for snack]

  • 2 tsp Homebrand Sultanas [For snack]

  • ½ stick Celery [For snack]

  • 40g Red Capsicum [Cut into sticks for snack]

  • 1 tsp Willow Farm Hummus Dip [For snack]
